Son of Nathaniel William Quick and Isabella Quick nee Stewart of Majorca Road, Maryborough, Victoria.

Brother of Allan Quick who was killed in action on 29 October 1918 while serving with the 37th Battalion and has no known grave. His name appears on the Villers-Bretonneux

Commenced return to Australia on 17 October 1916 aboard HT Ajana disembarking on 8 December 1916
