Son of Henry Uren and Emma Jane Davey Uren nee Leonard of Hunter Street, Charters Towers, QLD.
13 August 1915 - enlisted at Brisbane, QLD, with the 5th LIght Horse Regiment and with the rank of Private, later Trooper
28 June 1919 - commenced return to Australia aboard HT Madras disembarking on on 3 August 1919 at Sydney for onward travel to Brisbane.
Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal
27 September 1919 - discharged at the 1st Military District
On 22 September 1928 Richard married Eileen Eva Cameron in QLD.
