Biography

"...6361 Private Ambrose Sydney Hurst, 18th Reinforcements, 22nd Battalion, of Mont Albert, Vic, aged 24 years. Pte Hurst enlisted on 5 October 1916 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Hororata on 23 November 1916. He was killed in action on 18 August 1918 in France. His only brother, 37601 Gunner Frederick Russell Hurst, 6th Trench Mortar Battery, died of wounds on 6 October 1918 in France." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
