Biography contributed by Karen Marr

OBITUARY. THE LATE MR, WALTER HENRY BENNETT.
Mr. Walter Henry Bennett, a returned soldier, formerly of the 28th Battalion, and late State general secretary of the Boy Scouts' Association, passed away on
the 24th inst., at the age of 32 years. In January last the deceased was forced to resign from the State general secretaryship of the Boy Scouts' Association, owing to ill-health. For three years he devoted his life to that excellent work, and the present florishing conditions of the 'movement is largely 'due to his good work.
The funeral, which was very largely attended, took place on Monday afternoon, the 28th inst. in the Church of Christ portion of the Karrakatta Cemetery. From the cemetery gates to the grave the funeral cortege passed through a guard of Boy Scouts, many of whom bore beautiful floral tributes.
