18 August 1918 - Promoted to Company Sergeant Major
27 August 1916 - Promoted to Corporal
15 June 1919 - Returned to Australia
3 June 1919 - Awarded Distinguished Conduct Medal
From September to November 1918, he has had charge of the battalion dump in the line, and worked between there and advanced Battalion Headquarters, carrying out his duties efficiently, often under shell fire. His gallantry in action and devotion to duty have been inspiring to all.

Harold Lennox Williams was born in April 1888 to his father James William Williams, and his hometown and birthplace were located in Balhannah, South Australia. He was Catholic, having gone to the Church of England multiple times, and was a railway clerk before the war started.
When WW1 broke out, Harold Williams was employed as a driver at 26 years old on the 2nd of September 1914, however by showing great performance and courage in many warzones he was promoted multiple times, all the way up to Sergeant.
