Served a five year apprenticeship will Elliot Basshaw of Sydney.

Son of John Quinn and Mary Quinn of Young Street, Redfern, NSW. Later change to his wife Delia Quinn nee Cather of Young Street, Redfern, NSW. Leslie and Delia married during 1916c in Sydney.

Commenced return to Australia on 31 May 1919 aboard HT Aeneas disembarked on 12 July 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel
