World War 1 Service

25 Sep 1915: Enlisted AIF WW1, Private, Pte Wilcock's original attestation unit is listed at the 15th Reinforcements, 6th Battalion.
7 Mar 1916: Embarked AIF WW1, Private, 4937, 6th Infantry Battalion, Private John Wilcock embarked on the HMAT Wiltshire A18 in Melbourne. He disembarked the HMAT Wiltshire in Suez on 10 May 1016.
18 Apr 1920: Discharged AIF WW1, Private, 4937, 57th Infantry Battalion, Pte Wilcock served in 6th Battn, 58th Baton and finally in the 57th Battn. He returned to Australia on the "Orontes" disembarking on 28th June 1919.

Private John Wilcock stated on his enlistment papers that he was a widower and listed having a daughter.  His daughter's next-of-kin details in his service record in his the NAA service records give her name as:

John Wilcock died at the age of 43.  He was the son Margaret Lukeman-Ryan and Thomas Wilcock.
John Wilcock was buried with his wife was Amelia Brown Wilcock who died on 4 January 1909 leaving John Wilcock to care for their 9 month old daughter Thelma.
