Baronet Guy Couper was born on 12th March 1889 at Warburton, Victoria, Australia. 

Upon his father's death in 1949, Guy succeeded to the Couper Baronetcy, which was created on 23 June 1841 for George Couper, who was a colonel in the British Army and fought in the Peninsular Wars, served as Military Secretary to two Governors General of Canada, and was Comptroller of the Household and Equerry to Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Kent.

Guy passed away, aged 84 years, in 1973 at Donvale, Victoria and the title then passed to his nephew.
