A service in honour of Private A E Petrusch

The Heytesbury Reformer and Camperdown and Cobden Adviser ( Vic: 1914-1918) of Friday 16th July 1915 reports a service of honour was conducted at the Methodist Church for Private A.E Petrusch, who died from shrapnel wounds, while fighting in the Dardanelles. It tells us that he spent the early years of his life in the district. Friends of the fallen soldier we are informed decorated the church and the service was conducted by R.S Wigley.

On Bert's death several close relatives were still living in the Timboon area.

Bert is listed on the Timboon School Honour Roll.  
The Heytesbury Reformer and Cobden and Camperdown Advertiser. ( Vic: 1914-1918) of Friday the 16th July 1915 tells us a service was conducted at the Methodist Church  for Private A.E. Petrusch, who died from shrapnel wounds in the  Dardanelles. We learn further,  that he spent his early years in Timboon, attending school there and the local Sunday school.
 Further information is given of his service in the third Lighthorse, where he was wounded in the thigh by shrapnel and died of his wounds on June 20 1915, aged 23.
