Bert Henry Norton
Bert Henry Norton was born at Norton Summit in May 1879, according to his Defence Service Record. He worked as a horse driver until enlisting in Adelaide on the 29th November 1915, aged 36, listing his mother, Mrs Jane Norton of Forest Range, as his next of kin.
Private Norton left Australia on the 27th June 1916, arriving with the 10th Battalion at Etaples, France on the 17th September 1916. He was admitted to No.1 General Hospital, Etretat in France on the 27th November 1916 where he died due to asthma and bronchitis on the 11th December 1916.
