Meritorious Service Medal
'This N.C.O. has, since Q.M. and Hon. Captain MATTHEWS was evacuated, early in November, 1917, until the end of February, 1918, carried out the duties of Quartermaster unassisted. During that period the Ambulance has had frequent moves and has had charge of two large D.R.S.'s. He has shown marked organising capacity and a high sense of duty and I have at all times found him most trustworthy and reliable.'
