Fred Bassé returned from WW1 and married Evylyn Clutterbuck 24 April 1923 at St.Cuthberts Church, Prospect. Evylyn was the daughter of Charles Frederick Clutterbuck and Welthy Ann Teagle.
Fred Bassé later took over the business of his Uncle Fred Bassé, jeweller at 92-94 Rundle Street Adelaide. He later lived on Portrush Road in Adelaide. He was a Member of the Adelaide Zooalogical Gardens Society who founded the Adelaide Zoo as we know it today. He was an expert on birds and for many years a successful breeder.
At the outbreak of WW2 he enlist a served again 22/9/1942 - 11/6/1943 as Capt. 4th Garrison Batt.
He is survived by his only child Diane.
