Harold, commonly known as Reg, enlisted in the 10th Battalion embarking from Adelaide on HMAT A70 Ballarat on 12 August 1916. He went to France with his battalion on 21 January 1917.
He was deemed medically unfit after several bouts of hospitalisation in France and England. Private Radbone’s War Service Records do not provide any specific details. Reg returned to Australia on the Llanstephan Castle on 15 February 1918 and was discharged on 1 May.
