Letter to family
Hi, I am the grand daughter of Private James McElgunn SN 1259. I have searched long and hard for a photo of James in uniform which I would love to have and love to add to the War memorial. Is there any specific info you could suggest to help me find a photo of him? I have tried his home town, his enlistment in St. Kilda. I assumed an enlistment photo would have been taken. I have also rifled through the Broadmeadow training camp photos, as well as the photographic company in Broadmeadows which was used to take soldiers photos there. There MUST be a photo of him somewhere!
Also, I have a letter which he wrote from Heliopolis Hotel to my Grandmother which I would like to share with you.
I will wait for a reply from you so that if we could locate a photo of him, I could add that along with the letter.
Thank you in anticipation,
Anne Moloney
