Alexander Martin HOBAN was the youngest son of Patrick Thomas MARTIN and Bridget MARTIN.
He enlisted in 1916 after the death of his elder brother, Private John Michael Joseph HOBAN, SN 4153 in France on the 25th July 1916.
On returning from the war, Alexander married Hedwig Agnes PUMPA in 1920. They had a son Keith, 1921-1997.
Alexander's nephew PA2518 of the Royal Australian Navy was a Supply assistant stationed in Adelaide when a ruptured appendix caused his death at Keswick.
Alexander passed away 31 Mar 1954 at the age of 70, and is buried in the AIF Cemetery of the West Terrace Cemetery in Adelaide.
