Statement, Red Cross File No 1490104, 1687 Pte G.W. CUMMINGS, A Company, 31st Bn (patient, No 51 General Hospital, Etaples), 4 April 1917: 'He was killed at Fleurbaix on July 19th. in the front line trench, just before the charge. I helped to bury his body in the cemetery at Fleurbaix, the next day.'
