John Francis Edward Brown was born 11 July 1894 in Harrietville, Victoria, the son of Paul Brown and Honorine Marie Josephine (Nee Harold) Brown.
His father Paul was a Miner from Cornwall.
He had five brothers and six sisters.
John died from shrapnel wounds on 08 June 1917 in the Battle of Messines in Belgium aged 22.
