9 Aug 1918: Involvement AIF WW1, Private, 7572, 6th Infantry Battalion, Charles was killed instantly by a sniper at Rosières-en-Santerre, France while attending to a wounded Lieutenant Edward James Archer. He was buried in a Soldiers grave not far from the train station at Rosieres.
