Private, No. 57709,
9th Battalion. Born at Glasgow, Scotland, in 1883, and was educated at Maryborough (Q.) State School. Son of Andrew and Mary Winning of Maryborough. On the 28th December, 1905, he was married to Agnes Young Lyle, daughter of James and Agnes Lyle, of Kangaroo Point, Brisbane. Enlisted at Brisbane and sailed for England 12th August, 1918. Went to France in November, 1918, where he remained till 23rd April, 1919. He returned to Australia, arriving on 7th July, 1919, and is now engaged at fruit farming at Mount Mellum, N.C. Line.
