    Son of Matthew Vaughan and  Bridget Agnes Vaughan nee O'Grady of Blackwood, SA. Francis was baptised on 17 May 1896 in the Parkside Catholic Church, SA. Latin name was given as Franciscus Bernardus.

    Commemced return to Australia on 28 March 1919 aboard HT Port MacQuarie disembarking on 21 May 1919

    On 26 April 1924 Francis married Mary Gertrude Gamper in St. Saviours Catholic Church, SA.
