The son of Thomas Henry and Lydia Poole of St Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands. Sister of Lily Le Mesurier of Sydney, NSW. William emigrated to Australia in late 1911.
Enlisted at Sydney, NSW. Member of the Order of Oddfellows, Sydney. Wounded in action at Messines 8 June 1917, killed in action near Messines, aged 26 years.
