'Has been a member of the 17th Bn, since its inception. Was Adjutant from November 1915 to October 1916 and since then Staff Captain, 5th Aust. Inf. Bde. During the whole of that time he has done his work conscientiously and well, and has shown great devotion to duty. Under all conditions his work has been excellent.'
