Norman Leslie Du Frocq
Norman left Australia on 2 August 1917 onboard HMAT A28 Miltiades as reinforcement for the 53rd Battalion. The journey took 2 months, arriving 2 October 1917 at Glasgow, Scotland. He was transferred to 14th Training Battalion, Hurdcott, England on 3 October, however, on the 4 October Norman was isolated in the Group Clearing Hospital, Hurdcott for 10 days with "Mumps". His training with the 14th Training Battalion, Hurdcott, began on 24 October. He was transferred to France, via Southhampton on 12 February 1918. At this time he received a Transfer of Service to reinforce 35th Battalion and was taken on strength to the battlefield on several occasions at Rouelles. On the 4 April 1918 he was wounded at Villers-Bretonneux and admitted to the 11th Stationary Hospital, Rouen. This was followed by transferred to England aboard "Grantully Castle". Norman was returned to Australia onboard the "Runic" on 23 September 1918. Discharged on 1 May 1919.
