John’s headstone gives us no indication of his service with the 1st A.I.F., so I have placed poppies and a 1914-1918 WAR label in remembrance of his sacrifice for God, King and Country.

Service record states Died after Discharge 26.9.1949.

Older brother William (35th Battalion, Reg No-548, born 1892? died 11.8.1959, resting at Belmont Cemetery, N.S.W.) also served 1st A.I.F.
