Add my storyBiography contributed by Stephen Brooks
Alfred Main enlisted at the age of 38. His mother had passed away when he was 12 years of age and his father was deceased before he enlisted as a single man. He was killed during the attack at Fromelles, probably somewhere in No Mans Land. He was listed as missing for almost 15 months before he was confirmed as killed by a court of enquiry in September 1917.
He was the brother of David Alexander Main who died of illness in France and brother of Charles Hay Main killed in action at Pozieres France. The three brothers died within a period of six weeks in 1916.
