Biography contributed by Stephen Brooks

Albert Robinson was the son of Henry and Agnes Robinson, of 14 King William St., Fitzroy, Victoria. His father had passed away in 1898 so his mother Agnes received his medals and entitlements.

Albert was transferred to the 60th Battalion during the reorganisation of the AIF in Egypt during early 1916. He was listed as missing on the 19 July 1916 and nothing was known of his fate. He was confirmed as killed by a Court of Enquiry held in August 1917.

His elder brother, 2095 Pte. Alexander Robinson 23rd Battalion AIF, died of wounds only a few months later at Flers, 20 November 1916, aged 25.

An elder half-brother, (mother had a son from a previous marriage) 2573 James Clement Mounser 16th Battalion AIF, was later killed in action 20 September 1917, aged 30.

Another brother, 986 Private Edward Robinson 8th Battalion AIF, died of wounds in England 11 September 1918, age 28.
