The details provided are taken from the book "Stealth Raiders - a few daring men in 1918" written by Lucas Jordan, published 2017, refer to pages 97, 113+4, 270 & 282. Prior to the war he was a clerk of Adelaide SA. He enlisted 5th Sep 1917 aged 20 years. He served with the 10th Infantry Battalion. He survived the war, departing the UK 19th April 1919. During the war service David maintained a diary, and this has been donated to the Australian War Memorial, reference PR01061.
