Husband of Mrs Mary Isobel Gilsenan, Fire Station, North Fitzroy, Victoria
Prior to enlistment he was teaching at School No 1212 Shepherd's Flat.
A report from Yan Yean on Friday states that while on his way from Eltham to Cathkin, where he was a school teacher, Mr. Harold Gilsenan, aged 32 years, met a shocking death. Accompanied by his wife, Mr. Gilsenan was driving a horse attached to a jinker. The horse became frightened and commenced kicking. It broke the shafts and other parts of the vehicle. Mr. Gilsenan falling under the heels of the horse, was badly kicked about the head. Dr. Day, who was telephoned for, pronounced life extinct on his arrival. Mrs. Gilesnan was injured by the wheel of the jinker passing over her leg.
GILSENAN.—On the 1st April, 1921, at Yan Yean (accidentally killed), Harold Davies (head teacher S.S., Cathkin), dearly beloved husband of Mary Isobel, and second eldest son of Mrs and the late H. E. Gilsenan, of "Rosebank," Eltham, aged 32 years.
"In the midst of life we are in death."
