Son of John David Vincent of Wyndham Road, Bournemouth Hampshire, England.

Later changed to his wife Hilda Mary Vincent nee Harding of Angel Road, Hammersmith, London, England. Archibald and Hilda married on 16 August 1917 in St. Pauls Church, Hammersmith, England. A. Hamilton-King and G.W. Walsh officiated.

Commenced return to Australia 9 July 1919 aboard HT Warwickshire disembarking on 24 May 1919
