Son of James Simons and Margaret Simons of Goulburn, NSW. Next of kin given as his sister Ada M. Jones nee Simons of Sydney, NSW later changed to his elder brother William Simons. Also brother of Anne Simons, Laura C. Simons, Eva A. Simons, Mabel Theresa Simons, Vivian Simons and Kate Simons
