Son of Zachaus CHRISTENSEN and Mary Ann nee MCDONALD, Glengarry, Vic.
Berry, unmarried at 36, enlisted as a Lighthorseman and went off and fought in the Great War. Despite surviving and bravely enduring the horrendous conditions, he was mortally afraid of spiders. Curiously, though, whenever he cut himself on the farm, he’d use a spider’s web to stem the blood flow! He was also something of a water diviner and quite an animal whisperer. He and his wonderful dog Skipper were such a team they would perform comic party pieces at local gatherings.
