Son of William Urie and Rose Emma Urie nee Smith of Finsbury Street, Flemington, Victoria.

5 July 1915 - enlisted at Melbourne, Victoria with the rank of Private

18 February 1916 - transferred to the 1st Australian Auxiliary Hospital

4 April 1917 - transferred to the 16th Field Ambulance

26 October 1917 - transferred to the  5th Field Ambulance, in the field

5 April 1919 - commenced return to Australia aboard HT Armagh as nursing staff disembarking on 18 May 1919

Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal

17 July 1919 - discharged at the 3rd Military District

During 1925c Ralph married Valerie Agnus Saddler in Victoria
