Theodore was born 23 August 1897 at Essendon the son of Herbert Arthur and Mary Emily Antill.

Education - Bachelor of Science (BSc), University of Melbourne
Theodore entered Caulfield Grammar School in 1907 and in his final year was a Prefect and 1914 School Captain. He studied Science at Melbourne University until enlistment on 2 February 1917 and served in the Australian Flying Corp as an Air mechanic 2nd class, embarking on HMAT A68 Anchises on 8 August 1917.
Theodore returned to Australia on 28 February 1919 and resumed Third year Science at Melbourne University.
Theodore worked as an Industrial Chemist.
Yesterday afternoon [13 June 1924] the marriage, took place at St. Paul's (Anglican) Church, Port Pirie, of Kathleen, fifth daughter of Mrs. A. E. Bensley, of Port Pirie, to Theodore D'Aveline, second son of Mrs. Melhuish, of Malvern (Vic). The officiating clergymen were the Revs. H. A. Williams, of Quorn (brother-in-law of the bride) and J. W. Stringer.
Theodore was a Metallurgist and Industrial Chemist when he enlisted 16 May 1942serving with the 28th Battalion VDC in Sydney. On 14 September 1945 he was discharged under VDC Regulations because of the Disbandment of his Corps.</
Theodore was Managing Director of Elliotts and Australian Drug company in 1959 and later, Managing Director of DHA Chemicals until his retirement. .

Theodore died at St Leonards NSW in 1969. Interred at Northern Suburbs Memorial Gardens - North Ryde.
