Son of John Richard Quick and Maria Quick nee Dickinson of Manner Street, Maryborough, Victoria.

During 1901 Richard married Bella Daisy Maller in Victoria. Stated on Attestation paper that he was not married. 

Member of the Maryborough Rifle Club

Commenced return to Australia on 7 February 1919 aboard HT Lancashire disembarking on 21 March 1919
