Details provided are taken from the book "Stealth Raiders - a few daring men in 1918" written by Lucas Jordan, published in 2017. refer to pages 69, 265 & 285. Prior to the war he was a steward of South Yarra, Vic. He enlisted 16th Dec 1914 aged 19 years. He served with the 5th Infantry Battalion, rising to the rank of Sergeant. He survived the war and departed the UK for home 9th July 1919. While in service he maintained a diary, and that plus other memoirs have been donated to the La Trobe Library in Melbourne Vic. refer MSB223 MS10511.
