Son of Walter James Joyce and Mary Joyce nee Baker of 245 Gouger Street. Adelaide, SA. Brother of Edith Mary Joyce, Hercules Clarence Joyce, Walter Stanley Joyce, Ethel Florence Joyce and Ruby Myrtle Joyce

Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal

Was promoted to acting Sergeant of a couple of occasions but kept getting relagated back to Private but eventually achieved the rank of Sergeant
