MR. P. J. CORBETT
Death At Portland
Mr. Patrick Joseph Corbett, who died in Portland Hospital last night, at the age of 57, had lived at Portland for the past 33 years, and was widely and popuIarly known. He was born at Pyramul, and followed coal-mining for a long time, but had not worked in the industry for the past six years, being obliged to retire owing to miners' complaint. He had been an inmate of the institution for varying periods during the past nine months. Ivanhoe was the last, colliery he was engaged at. The late Mr. Corbett served in the war with the 18th Battalion, A.I.F., and for a considerable period also did duty at the Holdsworthy concentration camp. He was a member of the Druids and Free Gardeners' Orders. Mrs. Corbett and an adopted son, Keith, survive, and to them will be extended the deepest sympathy of the community.
The funeral has been arranged for to-morrow afternoon, interment to be made in the Catholic portion of Portland cemetery. Messrs. John Simpkins and Son have charge, of the details.
