Charles was born on 29.5.1895 to Robert and Louisa (Gibson) in McKinlay, Nth Qld.
Enlisted 31.12.1914 in Goondiwindi and embarked from Brisbane on 16.6.1915 aboard Borda bound for Egypt. He deployed for Gallipoli on 3.10.1915 and was one of the last to leave.

Charles Dougherty passed away 7.8.1990 leaving Proserpine with a detailed diary of his WW1 exploits. Proserpine Old Cemetery, section OP1 grave 716.
