James Hill Stobo
James Hill Stobo was born in Dunbarton, Scotland about 1871. His parents, John & Jane Stobo, had 6 children. James was the eldest child. About 1906 he came to Perth, Australia with his cousins - joined later by his Aunty (sister to his father). When James enlisted for the war he was 45 yrs old, and working as a smelter worker at Ravensthorpe Western Australia. He served in the AIF for 5 years and returned to Australia. He died in 1934 aged 62 years. He was much loved by his family in Scotland, and by the cousins and Aunty in Perth. He served our country well.
