Gifts as a preacher, pastor and administrator

Two ministers were elected at last Conference as 'Chairman of the District' for the first time— Revs. R. Piper and E. M. Boyer. In a previous issue details were published of Mr. Piper's career. This week we present a photographic block of the Rev. E. M. Boyer, of Temora, elected as Chairman of the Cootamundra District, which includes twelve circuits, one being the Riverina Mission. Mr. Boyer succeeds Rev. J. H. A. Sorrell, who has been transferred from Cootamundra to Goulburn, where also he will be Chairman of the Goulburn District. Mr. Boyer is the son of the late Rev. F. C.Boyer, who was a minister beloved, and an ardent and successful evangelist in all his circuits, winning many persons for Christ and the Church. Rev. E. M. Boyer has 'travelled' twenty-two years, viz., in Nambucca River, Narrandera, Dural, Maclean, Rozelle Mission, and Temora. He served as Chaplain of the A.I.F. in the Great War. A Man of attractive personality, and gifts as preacher and pastor and administrator, he may be expected to render the Church an important service during his chairmanship of his very extensive district.
