Son of James Robinson and Matilda Robinson nee Brooks of Giil Street, Kelmscott (now known as Rosewater), SA. Brother of Albert James Robinson, Arthur James Robinson, Raymond Robinson and Ida Mary Robinson

On 25 August 1923 Edgar married Susannah Souter Rowell in St Mary's Church, Adelaide, SA

At the time of his death he was residing in the Kelmscott area, SA

Commenced return to Australia on 28 March 1919 aboard HT Port Macquarie disembarked on 21 May 1919
