"WESTERN AUSTRALIAN CASUALTIES.
Mrs. Sam Morris, of Goomalling, has received intelligence of the death of her son, Private S. S. Hamp. He left Queensland with the Light Horse in March last, and was killed in action at the Dardanelles on August 7. Private Hamp, who was a South Australian by birth, was 23 years of age." - from the West Australian 11 Sep 1915 (nla.gov.au)
