Born at West Maitland, N.S.W., and educated at the Marist Brothers School, West Maitland. The son of Owen H. and Emily Youngman, of Maroochy River, via Yandina. Enlisted on the 10th January, 1915, and sailed for Egypt on the 16th June, 1915. Was on the Peninsula, and remained there till the evacuation. Went to France in March 1915. Wounded at Messines on the 16th June, 1916, and invalided to England, thence to Australia, arriving on the 29th January, 1918.
