Lynton Clarence Eichner was brought into the world in 1894 in Yorketown South Australia. His parents were Mrs Augusta Louisa Marie Eichner and Constantine Eichner. He worked as a farer in Rainbow, Victoria. On the 28th of March 1916 at the age of 21 and 6 months Lynton Clarence Eichner enrolled in the AIF in Adelaide. Eichner was just 5'6" and 138 lbs around then. He reached his unit in France in February 1917 and served through the rest of the war without being wounded.

Lynton returned to Australia on the 31st of March 1919. In 1922 Lynton was married to Delcie Clarice Pegler Eichner. He died on 23rd of May 1960 and is buried at Pink Lake Cemetery in Yorketown.
