Son of Christen Hansen and Maria THORSEN, Rundle Street, Rockhampton, Queensland
Mr C H Thorsen, Rundle street, Hillside, is in receipt of the following letter from Leutenanat Colonel Luscome, Brisbane:- "It is with much regret I have to confirm the notification recently conveyed to you with regard to the casualty to Percival Leslie Thorsen, Forty-ninth Battalion, Australian Imperial Forces, and forward the subjoined extra of the notification from headquarters. Killed in action 5th April, Forty-ninth Battalion, 2715, Percival Leslie Thorsen. I would ask you to accept the deep sympathy of the King, Queen and Commonwealth Government in the loss that you and the army have sustained" Private Thorsen, who was employed at the office of "The Critic," was the second son of Mr Thorsen. He was only eighteen years of age when he enlisted and was not quite twenty years old when he was killed. He was fighting at Messines, in which he was wounded, but as soon as he had recovered he returned to the firing line.
THORSEN.—In loving memory of No. 2745, Private Percival Leslie Thorsen, 49th Battalion, A.I.F., who was killed in action, in France, on the 5th of April, age 19 years 10 months.
True to his God, King, and Empire, he died.
