Biography

Son of John Henry and Clara ALDRIDGE

Thomas Sydney Aldridge the son of John Henry and Clara Aldridge. He was born in 1889. 

He was born in Manor Park, Essex, England and then moved to South Australia. He was described as having blue eyes and brown hair. He stood at 5 Foot 7 inches and weighed 128 lbs. Thomas lived most of his life in Hyde Park, South Australia, working as a hairdresser prior to his enlistment.

On June 4, 1915, he enlisted at the age of 18 years and 9 months old. The 10th Battalion served as Thomas Sydney's initial regiment, later he was moved into 50th Battalion and then ended at the 32nd Infantry Battalion

Thomas Sydney Aldridge started fighting in World War 1 on the 4th of June 1915 and ended on the 13th of April 1919.

Thankfully after nearly four years of his service at the war he was safely discharged to go back home in Australia. To which he lived on for multiple years until he died at 81 years old and was buried in the Centennial Park Cemetery. He was husband to Florence and father to his only child Len. He was awarded the 1914–15 star, the British war medal, and the Victory medal.
