Edward John Turner was the seventh child of John Alfred TURNER and Harriett CLARK.

He was the first of three sons to enlist in the first World War.  His brothers to enlist were;

Private Walter William TURNER SN 186 43rd Infantry Battalion. Died from Wounds on the 1st August 1917

Corporal Henry Herbert TURNER, SN 2230 5th Divisional Ammunition Column.

He served at Gallipoli and in France and Belgium.

On returning from the war he married Myrtle Elizabeth Peel DAVIS in 1923.
