    Son of Charles Edwin Vautin and Elizabeth Harriett Findlay Jordan Hill Road, Hobart, Tasmania. Brother of Alan Charles Vautin who return to Australia on 26 November 1917 having served with the 6th Field Artillery Brigade

    Commenced return to Australia on 8 Ocotber 1919 aboard HT Devon disembarking on 29 November 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Hobart
