Son of Alexander Roberts and Elizabeth (Bessie) Ann Nankivell Roberts nee Dawe of Gilbert Street, Victoria Park, SA.

Brother of Alexander Francis Dawe Roberts who was killed in action on 2 May 1915 at Gallipoli and is buried at Quinn's Post Cemetery, Gallipoli. Row B, Grave 9

Commenced return to Australia on 23 May 1917 aboard HT Ayrshire disembarking on 17 July 1917

On 17 November 1923 Harold married Ethel Mary Rogers in the Gartrell Memorial Methodist Church, Rose Park, SA
