Son of Ludwig Francis Vanselow and Elizabeth Ann Vanselow nee Davies of Chatham Road, Canterbury, Victoria. Brother of Arthur Vanselow who returned to Australia on 15 May 1919 having served with the 22nd Battalion.
Commenced return to Australia on 7 January 1921 aboard HT Narkunda
